Wyze Outdoor Plug will not connect to WiFi

I had the same issue but was able to resolve it My router has both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz bands (Orbi Mesh Router). For my router, there is no option to turn off the 5Ghz band, but you can go into the setting to turn off the broadcast for that band and only have the 2.4Ghz band “visible” My plug then was able to connect.

Try turning your wi-fi security off. Mine worked after that but I don’t want to like my wi-fi security off!

On Android, I had to turn off “Private DNS” and the Wyze Smartplug connected and was able to setup correctly!

Via Settings > Network & Internet

After you set it up, make sure you set our on “Automatic” again for engaged phone security.
