Well, it’s go time… I’m going to do some digging on the Wyze cams. So far I’ve been very impressed with the level of security Wyze has taken with their product. We shall see what happens.

sure is taking a long time.
I do have more to do, but have done some preliminary testing. So far it’s not too bad. I found one thing that could allow an attacker to download the firmware binaries, unpack and perform static analysis. I’ll leave it at that. I’ve reported that to them. I’ll let you know if I hear anything.

Hak5 makes purpose driven hardware for pen testing. The WiFi Pineapple is hardware that enables MITM, rouge AP attacks, etc. It’s very useful in security research.
