Wyze cam v2 firmware upgrade back light wont turn blue

Hello all, long story short but i am trying to flash Wyze cam manually to upgrade the Firmware
1- I put the File into flash drive SD Card
2- Push rest button then plug in the power
3- Hold for 6 seconds , 15 Second , 25 Seconds ( different tries )

At this point the light in the back of the cam should change to solid blue which mean it is reading from SD card but in my case that does not happen

Has anyone here been able to manually flash this cam before?

Please advise

I have… only needed to once though.

Assuming you were following the flashing instructions.

Couple of thoughts:

What size/type card are you using?

Did you try a different revision, maybe one rev behind?

Solid blue means it’s linked to your wifi…aka it’s hot, live

It may take twice the 6 seconds they specify, so try longer too. I usually just hold it until I can feel something happening.

Note: The “Solid Blue” in this case is not the same as the one normally seen on the camera. Instead, both the blue and yellow LEDs will be on at once, making it appear to be a lighter blue.

Hi joeforfun2012

I don’t know if you ever got this fixed, but I just had the same issue.

I swapped my SD card out for a smaller one (8GB) and the firmware upgrade (downgrade) worked.
Then I just swapped back to my 128GB.

So although the larger cards will work for recording, it doesn’t seem to like them for the firmware.

Hope this helps someone.
