Wyze Cam Outdoor base station

Hello, is the base station weather proof?

@nelsonabreu I believe it is indoor only. It has to connect to your router.

You plug the base station somewhere in your house, so it won’t be outside.

What I want to know is why a separate base station and not connect to your existing WiFi like every other Wyze camera?
And what frequency is it using? I have need to know where every piece of RF is at my house.

everything you want to know is here.

Goodie. A separate 2.4 GHz system to try to cram into all the other stuff on 2.4 GHz…

yep  Hopefully we have control of the channel used.

The base station is used to prolong the battery usage of the outdoor camera.

I’m a bit sad to see that the base station is limited to use with outdoor cam only right now. Imagine if it was made to interface with all the Wyze home security products like the door sensors, motion sensors, and door lock. Add in a siren, and you could have a pretty comprehensive setup for detection and alert, both locally (siren) and remotely (app notification).
