I’m now concerned by this too. Apps such as Snapchat, etc have to retain “deleted” content for periods of time after deletion in order to be able to comply with the police/FBI/whoever when deleted data is required. So does Wyze not do the same? If videos were required by a police investigation, would Wyze be unable to provide that information? Or is it simply not available to the customer? I’ve planned on purchasing Wyze cams for my upcoming place but this has caused me to wonder if another product would be safer. If our data can be erased locally without our consent, whether by Wyze or by an intruder, why would there not be a cloud-based backup system in place? Seems like a massive flaw in the system, and for a security product, you would think that it would be a bigger deal?
