Instead of storing 60 second chunks of video to the sd card even though there are only a few seconds of motion/sound, store only 12 second chunks, like your cloud storage. Or allow the user to select the chunk size (in seconds).

can you explain the reason and use case ?
Users can store more videos with motion/sound on the card instead of having a 60 s video were there is only 5 s of motion/sound - more “history” on the card.
Users can watch all videos on the card in less time. As in the example above, would not have to watch 55 s of video where there is no motion/sound.
