I’d imagine so. Every robot vac I’ve dealt with has notified me of dirty brushes, full dust bins, or anything else. I can’t say for certain for the Wyze one but I’d be very surprised if it was not included.
I preordered the robot vac, but I have serious concerns about availability of replacement parts/accessories. Wyze released the Band months ago, but you still can’t buy replacement straps.
Will Wyze have replacement dust bins, brushes, wheels, etc., available for sale? If so, when?
This is my concern too. I have a Roborock s5, replacement parts are easy to get, but most of the parts, brushes, filters, are from different manufacturers and not Roborock. Will Wyze get the parts from other manufacturers also? My guess is that this is a rebrand Chinese vac. So parts will more than likely be available.
Disappointing to receive multiple marketing emails on this, reminding me that time is running out, then discovering that you don’t ship outside of the USA from the pre-order site.
Could you not just send the email only to your US customers given you have our location in your DB, or at the very least note in your emails that the pre-order is available only to US customers (and perhaps again on your order page)?
Frustrating, and not really an incentive to stay subscribed to your marketing emails TBH.
Hello Wyze, when are we getting the chance to pick the choice of gift we want for the first 20K pre-order? Since you already have 15% in your warehouse house that would go out soon, it would make sense to let us know on time. @UserCustomerGwen @WyzeTeam
Oh snap, it must be Christmas time… not only did my thermostats ship, but my WYZE vacuum too??
Does this Vacuum work well with high pile carpet?
There is a warning in the manual that says do not use the vacuum to clean shag carpets. It doesn’t specifically mention high pile, but there was a concern if you put your charging station on high pile the heavier robot might sink too low to mate with it. The solution there was to base the charger in a more compatible area, like on a tile floor.
How plush can the carpet be for the vacuum to still work?
Is there a suction only option no brush?
There is only a warning about shag carpets. The only concern I can think of for plush carpets was the robot may sink lower than the charger, and the solution to that was to base the charger elsewhere.
There is not a suction only option. The bushes always run.
Thanks for the prompt reply.
I am not worried about the charging. The base will be on a hardwood floor.
I need to know that when it gets to the bedrooms that have comfy carpet it will still work and not break the vacuum or ruin the carpet.
Best thing to do may be to wait until people start receiving their units to see their experiences with it.
We received our vacuum a few days ago.
It took it a few attempts to complete a whole cleaning cycle and map the entire floor plan.
Once done, it created different rooms (room 1, room 2, etc. )
How can I rename the rooms ?
How can I edit/ resize /“reshape” the rooms.
The current rooms created are not all “useable”.
I can’t find any “edit” function in the Wyze app.
I got a tracking number for a Wyze Vacuum today. Are they going to ship the “free” V3 camera in with the vacuum cleaner?
Thanks!
No, they can’t just include your V3 because they don’t know if that’s what you want and you haven’t selected anything yet. They said you will be able to choose any of these prizes:
- V3
- V2
- 2 Plugs
- Bulb
But first we have to wait for the email to select our reward (which they said they will send out in the end of December). I haven’t gotten that email yet (as of Christmas Day), so I assume nobody else has yet either. I very well may not choose a V3 since I already have a ton of cams…I honestly might pick a bulb or the plugs…
It is also possible that they will simply give us a redemption code to wave the retail cost of one of those items of our choice, but still make us pay for shipping to get it. The actual details about how it will work were not very specific, and other similar promotions (ie: free V3 if you get Cam Plus) were just redemption codes but made us responsible for shipping costs (though I got mine waved for those with a $100 order during the security system preorder).
Note I am using the current iOS Wyze Beta App, version 2.16.11 (Account Tab > About > look under the Wyze logo). So this is a description of what I see there.
On that version of the app (and maybe only that version, as things are still in flux), once the robot has created a complete map of your house, the sweep map will automatically create different room names ("room 1", "room 2", etc.). If you then look to the right of the sweep map, you will see two circles. One has a pencil in it (Edit) and one has a filled square in it.
If you don’t have these icons, particularly the Edit pencil (which was the last icon added to the Beta app), attempt to upgrade your app. If you still don’t, then be patient – all Robot routines are still a work in progress, and may not have reached your platform’s production app yet. In the meantime you can limit the robot by selecting the rooms you want to sweep before the sweep, or by adding virtual walls (discussed below).
Anyway, the circle with a pencil in it is the Edit icon. When you press it, depending on the power of your device, the app may take some time to draw your map. So be patient. Once it does, you can touch a room name to edit it. The room name will highlight. If you look below the map you will see options to spit the room into 2 rooms, or rename the room. If you touch a second adjoining room, those two options will deselect and a third option will highlight to join the two rooms.
These routines are a work in process and may not do all you want at this time. For instance, Splitting Rooms currently does not give all the flexibility people need, as the split markers only attach themselves to real walls, not virtual walls, and then only to a corner at that. I believe they are working on this.
To cancel, just touch the back arrow at the top left of the screen.
If you go back to the map, the circle with a filled square in it is the “virtual wall” menu. Touch it, and you go into the virtual wall editor. Press the “+ Add a virtual wall” button below the map, and a sample wall will appear. Slide that to where you want to keep the robot from vacuuming, then resize it to fit your needs. If you change your mind you can delete it using the trashcan in the upper right corner of the virtual wall.
Routines on the robot are still very new and very much in progress. Look at each app update to see what new features have been added or what features have been enhanced.
All of the above is just wishful ‘jibberish’ as NONE of this exists the current Wyze app for the Robot vacuum. Yes, I thought all of these capabilities would be included, as advertised in the preliminary publicity release, yet all we get to dat is a basic map and nothing else. The only options I have in the Wyze app is a MAP RESET, nothing else at all. Currently running the 1.6.75 Firmware upgrade, which actually lists …‘Added support for designated Area cleaning’…yet NOTHING is showing up in the app on my iPhone. As far as I am concerned, nothing but ’ smoke and mirrors’ from Wyze along with terrible support. The last statement above, …"Routines on the robot are still very new’…is surprising as it appears on many other 'bots from China and is not something new. Check out the far superior mapping features on Roborock vacuums, and in comparison, the Wyze mapping is like going back to the ‘stone age’. All in all very disappointed after 5 days of testing and watching a new issue occur each day after numerous runs. Who beta tested these units and for how long?
’
My iPhone production app V2.16.25 currently has virtual walls with FW 1.6.75, but no edit icon. So the edit icon is all that is missing from the current production app, and the software has just started to develop. Wyze doesn’t get other companies’ software routines, they have to develop their own.
The vacuum wasn’t expected to ship until January, at which time I expect all items I described will be in the production app. The robot can vacuum your house today, and you can exclude what you please with the virtual walls ATM. If you sign up for the Beta program you can have all I described a bit sooner.
I downloaded the beta version of the app, which now includes the edit mode for rooms. Which is great and basically what I was looking for.
However, the edit function is still a little “imprecise”?
Some splits it doesn’t let me make. It appears I don’t exactly understand where I can place the split line and where not. Some points it will take/stick to and some it won’t and the endpoints of the split line then just randomly move somewhere.
Any ideas or instructions how to split rooms and why it sometimes doesn’t “accept” points. Although such points are clearly corner points from a wall.
Yes, Splitting Rooms currently does not give all the flexibility people need, as the split markers only attach themselves to real walls, not virtual walls, and then only to a corner at that. I believe they are working on this.
