Product questions - new member

Hi. I own two V2 cams that I’m just starting to use. I also want to expand to more devices for entire home monitoring. I am not finding good guides and information on bundles. Please point me to the resources to answer the following questions…

  1. How many devices can connect to the base station at the same time, specifically cameras?

  2. Can only wireless cameras connect to the base station, or can V2 and V3 cameras connect via WiFi?

  3. If I connect 5 to 8 cameras to base station, is there a bundled monitoring/cam+ plan for the base station or do I need to purchase cam+ for each camera?

I was on hold for almost 30 minutes before connecting with a support agent. After he heard my questions, he said he was going to put me on hold to find the information. Instead, the call dropped.

I would appreciate if I can get a direct number to a sales specialist who might be able to answer my questions.

Thanks.

Welcome to the user-to-user forum, @satya!

I am assuming when you say “home monitoring” you are not talking about Wyze Home Monitoring, which is a separate product, and has a Hub that some may think of as a Base. The following assumes you are just talking about using the cameras for home monitoring:

The Wyze Outdoor Camera (a model, not a capability), can have up to 4 connect to its base. The V2 and V3 do not need a base like the WOCs, which are battery-powered and can’t stand the battery consumption of a WiFi network (the powered Base connects to the WiFi for WOCs).

The V2 and V3 connect to WiFi directly, as they are always powered.

Answered above

You need 2 Base stations if the 5-8 cameras are all WOCs.

Cam Plus is sold separately for each camera you want to use it on. Make sure you sign up using your Wyze app email address so you can associate the licenses to the cameras.

This is a user-to-user forum and not a support site for Wyze. Wyze has a presence here, but not the support arm of Wyze. The best way to contact them is by phone at the Support line. However, they are recovering from a major Hurricane ATM, and I don’t know the condition of their phone networks. You can ask us users any questions you need to, though.
