Pan Cam event recording sporadic

I have a Pan Cam setup that I’m getting sporadic results from with motion events.
What I am referring to are the 12 second clips recorded to the cloud.
The camera is setup by my front door. The camera can see cars pulling into the driveway, as well as people approaching the front door.

Let me give an example of what I’m talking about:
Wife and kids leave for school - Event Recorded
Wife returns from school - No Event
Wife leaves for run - Event Recorded
I leave for work - Event Recorded
Wife returns from run - No Event
Wife leaves to pick up sons - No Event
Wife and sons return - Event Recorded
Wife leaves to pick up daughter - No Event
Wife and daughter return - Event Recorded
I return from Work - No Event

The camera is running firmware 4.10.3.65. The WiFi signal strength is 90%.
“Detects motion” is turned on under event recording. I do have an SD card inserted and it is set to “record events only”.

The “skipped” events are missing from both the cloud, as well as the local storage.

The sensitivity setting is set at 49, which was the default. I do not have a detection zone set.

These events have more than 5 minutes between them, so it shouldn’t be a cool-down issue.

That’s about all the information I can think of.

Any thoughts?

Hey AaronR,

Once an event is recorded, it won’t record any other motion/sound events for another 5 minutes like you said, be sure to check for an obstruction in the video (like a pole or door blocking the view). Also keep in mind, the motion zone and sensitivity may have a part in this issue.

You can change those settings in:

  1. Go to a camera’s live feed page on the Wyze app.
  2. Click the gear icon.
  3. Click on “Detection Settings”.
  4. Adjust as needed.

If that doesn’t work, you should definitely contact Wyze Support at hello@wyzecam.com
