Got a new Wyzecam Pan, to add to an existing set of regular v2 cams.
Pairing with the iOS app worked fine.
The app then prompted to update the firmware, so I did so, but this ran for several minutes and then said “firmware update failed”.
Couldn’t get the iOS app to “see” the device at this point, so I did a factory reset on the camera, then tried to re-pair it. Now, it won’t re-pair: I can enter the network credentials, get the QR code, the camera scans it, but then after “QR code scanned”, nothing else happens and the iOS app gives up.
Some of the forum posts seem to mention error code 90, but I’m not seeing an error code anywhere.
I tried the June 6 instructions to flash the firmware, but this doesn’t appear to work — the demo_184.108.40.206-1.zip file was downloaded and renamed to demo.bin, then copied to the root level of the SD card, but the “Hold the setup button, plug in your USB cable, keep holding the setup button for 3-6 seconds” button doesn’t seem to work (and it doesn’t help that the turntable-foot spins around at boot time, making it really awkward to try to keep the setup button held down).
The camera itself does appear to be working otherwise — specifically, even though the camera isn’t on the network, the SD card starts getting MP4 recordings of the room.
I’m not sure what else needs to be done to get this thing working on the network with the current firmware. Am I missing a step? Any help would be appreciated.
