The V3 is not limited to 32GB.
There are users who use cards up to 512GB, however there are reports here in the forums of incomplete space usage and recording stoppages on cards over 128mb. There is also discussion of retrieval latency on larger cards.
Additionally, there are considerations to be made regarding the type of format performed on large capacity cards.
I would suggest extensive reading and research on the subject. I have provided topic links below. You will find useful links in each topic as well as experienced users to reach out to who have experimented with various uSD Cards. These are only a couple links, there are many others to search and read in the forums.
As for the type of card, without hesitation I highly recommend High Endurance or Extreme High Endurance cards specifically designed for continuous recording in security cams or dash cams.
Do you have to use Wyze brand SD cards? They don’t have a multi pack, and some brands you can get multiples cheaper that way. I have read several of these feeds, about larger cards, and where some formatting becomes an issue. What is really important?

Does the Cam3 properly format large (greater than 32 gb) cards, or do I need to do that before inserting it into the cam.
Background - it looked like it worked on my 256gb card, The camera “saw” 256 gb, but then the camera quit continuous recording at around 30 gb a few days later.
I tried to install a 256GB MicroSD Card in my new Wyze Cam v3 and when I clicked “Format Card” it would not work. Their website claims it must be formatted to FAT32 format, but that did not work. What worked for me was to:
Unplug Cam
Remove SD Card
Insert SD Card into computer (Windows 10)
Open ‘This PC’
Right Click SD Card
Select “Format…”
Under “File System” Choose ‘exFAT’
Ensure ‘Quick Format’ is selected
Format the SD Card
Insert in to Wyze Cam
Plug in and turn on

I have 4x Wyze Cam v2s. One inside, and the other 3 outside.
I have a 64GB card, and 3x 128GB cards in my cams, and they are all working great. The 128GB cards hold 14 days of full-day recordings, and about half of a 15th day.
Sound off, what SD cards do everyone else have working in their Wyze Cams? I’m curious if a 256 or 512GB would work. Hoping someone may have tried some.

The V3 cameras use 32GB FAT 32 Format, but many owners are using 64GB and some class 10 128GB micros sd cards instead. Does anyone (like tech support) know What happens if a 64GB card is used? will it become corrupted or crash memory in the cameras internal memory while processing and sorting??? There must be a REAL REASON why the cams are only certified for 32GB

I have a strange (to me) problem…
I have 2 x V3’s both with SD cards (256 Gig) and Cam Plus on both. I bought the larger SD cards to replace the 64 Gig ones I had in them previously, as free space was being used up and overwriting was taking place, (continuous recording) resulting in retained video being limited to about 5 days.
I have now checked with the new cards and as can be seen from the attached images the retained video is now about 7 days with tons of free space available on…
Remove the 9 day (or 100GB) limitation on continuous recording for the V3 cams. Large SD cards up to 256GB are common now that the cameras support exFAT, and even if unofficially supported, are being used in these cameras. 9 days is not enough history for many common camera applications, and motion detection is not reliable or consistent enough to remove the need for continuous recording.
