Mitigating the Impact of the Wyze Cam V3 ‘Excessive DNS requests’ firmware bug

As well as a number of other users who have reported this in this forum, I as well have been hit by the infamous ‘Excessive DNS requests’ bug. I have summarized my findings and mitigation here, to help other owners of the cam.
