HOW to scroll through cam mem card quickly and not miss an event?

Hello-

Is there a way to accurately scroll through a few hour time frame on the cams internal mem card?

I slide the bar left and right and it ‘seems’ to be doing what I want except when I lift my finger the brightness of day or darkness of nite increase as the time has then truly advanced.

There has to be a better way than what I have been doing.
