Fireball captured! Thank you, Wyze!

In the early hours this morning, my V3 captured a fireball (bright meteor) explode near my home which is south of Washington, DC. At least one of local TV stations have told me they plan to run the Wyze video on their 11 p.m. newscast tonight.

Thank you, Wyze! I just ordered two more Wyze V3 cameras!

p.s. Once I have permission, I will be happy to upload the video file to this forum.

Welcome to the Meteor Club! @todwatts and I have posted a bunch of meteor videos. I have more then 80 video. Most are little streaks lasting less than a second. But a few are pretty good. For some of the longer ones, I posted them to You Tube and then posted the link here.

I’m looking forward to seeing you video.

@wscase Great Capture Warren!

You are now officially part of the WYZE V3 Meteor Addiction Club! Like Mike, (@mvb), I’ve captured a bunch since receiving my first V3 … but nobody forgets their “first” meteor capture (or their first V3, for that matter!)

Many of us are keeping V3s pointed straight up into the night sky 24/7 in hopes of capturing a meteor or other things that go bump in the night. The amazing V3s can also capture the International Space Center and various satellites streaking overhead. Give it a try!

Don’t know if you saw the FYI … but the first real meteor shower of 2021 is about to kick off, usually starting April 16, ending April 25th. It will probably peak on night of April 21/22

I could have cared less about the night sky before receiving my first V3, and now, under the careful tutelage of several astronomy experts on Wyze.com (@Bam and @Omgitstony to mention a couple), I’m loving it!

Get one of your new V3s, laying straight on its back, pointing straight up and enjoy the show!

Is it just me, or do others have the song “Goodness Gracious, Great Balls of Fire” playing in the heads?

Thanks for sharing your fireball video @wscase :earth_americas:.

The newscaster said you are using SPECIAL CAMERAS because you are “really into it” …

I replied back to the weather guy and told him it was a $20 V3, but that wasn’t as “cool”. :wink:

Here is the link for yesterday’s newscast carried on NBC’s local affiliate in Washington DC, namely WRC4:

They didn’t name the camera, although I believe I sent that info in my message to them!

So the “facts” about the equipment weren’t as cool as the “report”? That’s unfortunate.
