Directions on setting up the Camera to Pan, and some others

Directions on how to set up the Camera to Pan. Changing the Camera Resolution and avoiding too many nuisance motion notifications. plus…

SETTING UP THE CAMERA TO PAN

To get to the Pan Scan Settings.

  • At the top Right Corner of the home screen for that camera, Tap on the Settings icon.

  • On the next screen, tap Advanced Setting

  • On the next screen, tap Motor Controls

  • On the next screen, tap Pan Scan Settings.

To move the camera into position for the 1st image do NOT tap the dot on the ring outside the SET image - that only swings the camera to the full limit of its range, but tough and hold briefly and release. That moves the camera in increments.

ALSO, very important, to get more immediate feedback as to what the camera is viewing, change the resolution form HD or SD to 360p. (It took me hours to figure that one out. Once you have settled on the pan positions you can go back to HD os SD)

Position where you want that first step in the pan and then press Set for that image position. Go to the next Camera position you want and repeat the process. IMPORTANT When finished, press the Save in the top right-hand corner.

CHANGING THE CAMERA RESOLUTION

  • On the camera’s home screen, to the left of the Live Stream heading is the current resolution indicator.

  • Tap that and a window opens showing the options: 360p, SD, HD.

  • When trying to set the pan positions, be sure to choose 360p. Even with great WiFi connections when setting to HD it can take up to 20 seconds for the image to be received on your phone. With the 360p setting the lag is only one or two seconds.

TO AVOID TOO MANY NUISANCE MOTION NOTIFICATIONS

  • At the Top Right Corner of the home screen for that camera, Tap on the Settings icon.

  • On the next screen, tap Event Recording

  • If you choose other than ALL DAY you will be prompted as to what to enter

Under “Record an event when camera” slide the buttons to select “Detects Motion” (When on it turns green) and turn off “Detects Sound” (When off it is grayed out)

Press the back arrow at the top left corner to return to the previous screen.

  • Press Notifications

  • Turn on Send Notifications

  • Under Notify me when an event is recorded…Turn on Person (it will turn green) and turn off All Other Motion and Sound (they will be grayed out)

  • Back out of the screens (by tapping the arrow in the upper left corner) returning to the Live Stream view.

TO CHECK ON YOUR CAMERA’S CONNECTION SPEED TO WiFi

This is important because when using HD it can talk too long to view an image with a weak signal. This is critical when trying to set up Pan.

  • At the top Right Corner of the home screen for that camera, Tap on the Settings icon.

  • Near the bottom of the selection list, tap on Device Info. From there you can see the Network you’re connected to and the Wi-Fi signal strength.
