Due to many restrictions in the design of windows and moldings, proper sensor placement is often difficult if not impossible. What is the chance of creating a sensor that had small pigtail wires that connected to a thin contact plate. This would allow the thin plate to be placed in space restricted areas and still have the ability to mount the actual sensor unit slightly outside the window or molding.
Can you make contact sensors that do not have the magnet or the magnetic module (read switch) and expose the two nodes that register if the sensor is open or closed?
Currently people are modifying the current contact sensor (examples on youtube) and I am trying to do it so I can hook up two wires that will close when connected. I want to make a smart live mouse trap because if you forget to check the trap it becomes a dead mouse trap.
