This would make the robot only go along the edges until it reaches the dock so it doesn’t ruin all the nice lines it makes on the carpet. It could also be just to clean the edges if that is needed.
It doesn’t already? That’s one of the few options my dumb robovac already has. (Option works great.)

I have no idea if it does. Just surprised since my much cheaper much dumber vac has it.

When vacuuming a space/room, it auto does this at the starting.
But as far as I know there is not a way to have it just do edges and then be done.
